The Aura Voice Group

The voices of those with lived experience is important in the development of services. We all agree that disclosing domestic abuse is not easy for fear of not being believed or retaliation. How can we improve our services and have agencies respond appropriately?

We have been meeting weekly every Tuesday since April 2023 and we have been involved in Scottish Governments consultations, had a conversation cafe event and engaged in creative art projects.

 Our voice group looks at how domestic abuse impacts on us and how it shapes our lives. It is important for services to get it right at the first disclosure in the prevention of further harm.
